Roam Ready is an adventure-focused travel planning company that designs thoughtful, personalized trips for people who want meaningful experiences without the stress of planning. We specialize in outdoor-forward, experience-rich travel. Our goal is to get you away from the pool, and into the world. We plan custom trips and pre-made self guided adventure packages.
Roam Ready is for travelers who want something more thoughtful than a standard vacation. That includes outdoorsy folks, adventurous beginners, couples, solo travelers, and small groups who want a plan they can trust.
Not at all. Many of our clients are new to adventure travel or getting back into it after time away. We design trips that feel exciting but still realistic and comfortable.
No. While the outdoors plays a big role in many of our trips, comfort still matters. We plan everything from cozy cabins and boutique stays to camping trips in tents under the stars. It is completely up to you and your preferences.
Custom Adventures
A Custom Adventure is a fully personalized trip designed specifically for you. Every detail is planned around your interests, timeline, group size, and comfort level.
Custom Adventure fees start at $300 per trip. Pricing varies based on trip length, complexity, and group size. Most Custom Adventures fall between $350 and $900, with higher-tier options available for longer or more complex trips. You’ll receive clear pricing after your consultation and before you pay.
Most Custom Adventures take about 1 to 3 weeks from consultation to final itinerary, depending on complexity and response times.
Yes. Most planning packages include revisions so we can adjust and refine the trip until it feels right.
Self-Guided Packages
If you already have an America the Beautiful Pass, we will credit that in the overall price. You will not have to pay for it twice.
While it is unlikely that you won't receive your pass before your trip, there is a solution if that does occur. If your pass does not arrive before your trip, you can pay for one at the gate of the National Park. You can then return your unsigned pass for a refund. When we receive those funds, we will pass them on to you.
If you already have an All-Trails+ membership, we will credit that onto your total trip cost before payment.
You’ll have access to 24/7 support if any questions or unexpected issues arise while traveling.
Yes. We strongly recommend travel insurance for all trips. Coverage can help protect you in case of trip cancellations, delays, medical emergencies, or unexpected changes while traveling.
Because Roam Ready coordinates self-guided travel and third-party bookings, we are not responsible for disruptions or incidents that may occur during your trip. Travel insurance helps ensure you’re covered so you can explore with confidence.
After booking, you’ll receive a detailed packing guide for your destination covering hiking gear, weather layers, and travel essentials.
Occasionally, weather, road closures, or seasonal conditions may require adjustments. Your itinerary includes alternative activities and route suggestions when needed. We cannot control the weather and outside factors so your itinerary may always be changed up until the day you leave.
National park road trips cover large distances. Some days include scenic drives of 2–4 hours, often with stops for viewpoints, short walks, and attractions along the way.
Please keep in mind that these are the average drive times. Sometimes road closures or unforeseen delays may cause a driving day to be longer than initially planned.
You’ll need a valid driver’s license, and a major credit card. Most rental companies require a security deposit hold until you return the car.
Cell coverage is limited in many national parks. Your trip includes offline navigation maps so you can travel confidently without service.
All of our car rentals are scheduled for pickup at the airport or a nearby lot with an airport shuttle so that you have an easy, hassle free way to and from the the airport.
No problem! We will give you a discount off of the total price of the trip. If you want to customize the trip, we can also help coordinate lodging and stops from your starting destination to the beginning of the trip.
Most trips are designed for travelers with a moderate fitness level. Expect several optional hikes ranging from short scenic walks to longer day hikes. You can mix and max the length and intensity as you choose depending on how you feel that day. The freedom to choose your activities is one of the many perks of a self-guided trip!
No. Each itinerary includes flexible options so you can choose activities that match your energy level.
We recommend booking 3–9 months in advance, especially for summer travel when national park lodging fills quickly.
You can still book under that timeline, just note that desired accommodation is dependent on availability.
Yes. We can adjust accommodations, add guided activities, or modify the pacing to better fit your travel style.
Yes. All Roam Ready trips are self-guided and designed exclusively for your travel group.
The only occasion where you might be in a group is during one of the optional guided experiences.
Itineraries may vary due to weather conditions, park closures, seasonal factors, or availability. Any adjustments will always prioritize safety and the overall quality of your experience.
Logistics & Communication
Your full itinerary will arrive as a digital PDF in your email, complete with clickable links. You'll also receive a paper guide in the mail a few weeks before your trip start. Any last minute changes will appear on your digital itinerary.
We plan everything from 2–3 day weekend getaways to multi-week adventures.
You'll be able to call, text, or email us during trip planning and during your trip. We’ll help troubleshoot whatever comes up.
Safety & Liability
No. We’re trip planners and consultants, not guides. You’re responsible for your own safety and decisions on the ground. We will connect you with trusted local guides if you want a guided experience.
All travel carries risk. Roam Ready isn’t liable for injuries, delays, or third-party issues. See our Terms & Conditions and Liability Waiver for more details. We are happy to help you out if you encounter a problem!
We carefully research and recommend trusted options, prioritizing reputable providers and well-established routes. That said, every adventure carries some level of risk. We encourage you to know your personal limits and come prepared with the right gear, food, water, and clothing to keep your trip safe and enjoyable.
Payment & Refunds
Yes. Refund eligibility depends on timing and package type. You can read the full details in our Refund Policy.
We’ll do our best to adjust your itinerary. Major changes on short notice may require a $100 change fee. Especially if we need to rebook flights, lodging, or rentals. You’ll also be responsible for any price differences from new reservations.
